We handed over our Instagram to a few students this month and asked them to take us through their day in their host city. This is Alvaro’s day in Florence (October 15, 2015).
Hello everyone! My name is Álvaro Castro Cid, I am currently a Senior at Colorado State University and a proud native Coloradan. Currently I am attending Florence University of the Arts in Firenze, Italia! My experience here has been amazing so far, and I would love to share a little bit of my typical day in this beautiful city. I am very excited and honored to be doing this for SAI! I hope you enjoy 😊😀😄. Here is my first post: Early this morning, on my way to school, the sun is shining and so am I ! jk I really need some coffee.
Waiting for my next class to begin.
Pretty hard to take a bad picture here. After a challenging day of classes it’s always good to take some time and enjoy the breeze on my walk home! This is one of my favorite spots in the city right outside of the famous Ponte Vecchio ☺️
I grew up in Colorado my whole life and haven’t traveled much. One of the things that I have learned since I have been in Florence is how big the world is. There is so much diversity, culture, history and people all in one globe. This is a picture I took when I went on a run a few minutes ago, it’s truly a blessing to be here 🙌
Late dinner @ Trattoria Pizzeria Dante! This is my favorite spot in town! They love study abroad students and their food is just below unbelievable. I ordered a Dante, which is a mix of a Calzone and a Pizza! Dante’s is cool because it’s upscale but provides a more affordable menu for students on a budget. For all you wine lovers they also have free wine if you present your student ID. 😊😌😀 The best part is that you get a free shirt if it’s your first time going! If you are in Florence make sure to stop by! As for me I’m going to bed after this post! It has been a wonderful day and I’m glad I got the honor to share some of it with you all!
