When I first arrived in Florence, I didn’t know what to expect. Where are the best places to grab a quick bite? Where can I stop between classes for a delicious meal? But after being here for almost 2 months (and lots of taste-tastings later), I can now say I’ve found the best spot for brunch, lunch, dinner, and everything in between.
Melaleuca
Looking for a brunch date with the girls, a solo study date, or a cozy date spot? Melaleuca is the perfect place. Think mouth-watering sweets, rich coffee, and savory bites – Melaleuca has it all. Melaleuca is known for its delicious warm cinnamon rolls, which did not disappoint, but the menu offers vegan and savory options as well. Being so far away from home, I sometimes crave a good bacon egg and cheese bagel, and let me just say Melaleuca has the best bagels I’ve tried in Florence. It’s no surprise that there’s usually a line waiting out the door, but trust me, it’s worth the wait!
Gustopanino
If you’re strolling through Santo Spirito and are craving authentic Italian paninos or pasta, Gustopanino is a must-visit. What makes gustopanino special isn’t just their delicious food – its also their vibe. The spot is tucked away near Piazza Santo Spirito and is a favorite among both locals and tourists. While they are known for their incredible paninis, my personal favorite is their fresh pasta. If you’re stuck between choosing a pasta or a panino, go with a friend and get the best of both worlds!
Trattoria Za Za
If you’re looking for that classic Tuscan dinner experience, Trattoria ZA A is the place to be. The menu is packed with local favorites like truffle pasta, pate dishes, and of course, the famous “Bistecca alla Fiorentina”. It’s a cozy and lively atmosphere with a baroque art style on the inside. The best part of this place isn’t the creamy pasta or their delicious steak, it’s the prices that come with those.
No matter where you decide to go for a quick bite or a delicious dinner, Florence will not disappoint with its food scene. There is something delicious in every corner waiting for everybody. I hope this guide helps you discover your new favorite Florentine bites and brunch spots!
