We handed over our Instagram to a few students this month and asked them to take us through their day in their host city. This is Talia’s day in Barcelona (April 3, 2016).
Hey everyone! I’m Talia and I’m studying at ELISAVA this semester in Barcelona with SAI. I’m originally from outside DC and I study graphic design at VCU. Here’s a pic from my amazing spring break in Rome!
Quick snack before a Sunday outside! Bocadillos are everywhere in Barcelona and cortados are a new favorite of mine.
Old Barcelona buildings and flowered balconies right above one of my favorite places.
Finding new parks on the way to Palo Alto Market.
Everyone at #paloaltomarket was looking their best for the fashion weekend, even these cuties.
Beautiful food, people and setting at @paloaltomarket this afternoon.
Old posters and layers of graffiti like this are everywhere in Barcelona. I always pass this on my way home from the metro and never get tired of it.
I caught up on a little HW this afternoon. Here’s one of the projects I’ve done while I’ve been here studying at @elisavabcn! It’s an instructional manual for coping with mornings.
This picture is from the top of La Pedrera, a modernist building designed by Gaudi. In my SAI group we always joke that everything important in Barcelona was designed by Gaudi because his work is everywhere in the city. However, I know what may seem redundant now is really something that I won’t be able to have at my fingertips forever. My semester abroad feels like it’s coming to a speedy end, I only hope to appreciate and hold onto the memories and sights that seem commonplace now but are a truly meaningful part of my experience here. Thank you SAI for your guidance this semester!
