Tell us why you chose to study abroad.
I believe that studying abroad is a must for all students. You will grow in so many ways and this summer is the perfect time for me to go abroad.
Tell us about your school, major, interests, clubs (you in a nutshell).
I attend Virginia Tech and have grown to be true Hokie fan. There I am part of the military program called the Corps of Cadets (yes, I go to class in uniform). I am a Hospitality and Tourism Major and always willing to learn as much as I can about my field of study. I also am taking Italian classes to improve my vocabulary. I absolutely love playing and supporting any sport! I also enjoy jazz music with a passion.
What are you most excited about re. studying abroad?
I am eager to see new places of Italy I have never seen before, meet new people, and visit friends who live in Italy. I also am excited about learning what my class has to offer at Florence University of the Arts and improve my Italian language skills as well!
What are you most nervous about re. studying abroad?
I am not too nervous about anything, but it will be a challenge since this will be the first time abroad without family by my side, but that’s what friends and classmates are for.
What are three goals that you would like to achieve/accomplish while abroad?
- To learn as much as I can about Italian Wines (the class I’m taking).
- Develop ability to speak Italian at a decent level.
- Visit many cities that I have never been to before in Italy.
