Founded in 1921, the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC), or Cattolica, is the largest private university in Europe. The university has been granted five stars by QS Stars, a global university rating system. Cattolica's Milan campus hosts over 27,000 students per year and is located in a beautiful 8th-century monastery, with cloisters redesigned by Bramante in the late 1500s. The school is an integral part of the local community of Milan, attracting students from within Italy as well as from around the world.
