Florence has a variety of different foods, and I’ve had the pleasure of discovering some incredible spots during my time here so far. Here are my top five favorite food places!
1. Pino’s Sandwiches
Pino’s Sandwiches is a hidden gem that serves up the best sandwiches in Florence, even better than the famous All’Antico Vinaio! Not only are the sandwiches delicious and reasonably priced, but supporting this local small business is an added bonus. Pino, the owner, has a genuine love for study abroad students and often hosts wine tastings with SAI.
2. Trattoria Sabatino
For an authentic Italian dining experience, Trattoria Sabatino is a must-visit. This family-run restaurant has a laid-back, vintage atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re part of a true Italian family meal. The homey vibe and traditional dishes are perfect for anyone seeking comfort food in a warm setting.
3. Gusta Pizza
If you’re craving pizza, look no further than Gusta Pizza! This place has quickly become my favorite pizza spot in Florence, and it even received a nod from Guy Fieri! The Pesto pizza is a fan favorite.
4. Rooster
Rooster is an awesome spot with a fantastic atmosphere. While you wait for your food, they even provide Uno to keep you entertained! If you’re missing the taste of home, Rooster serves up delicious American comfort food. Their burgers are phenomenal, and their chicken and waffles.
5. Gelateria Ambrosia
No trip to Florence is complete without indulging in gelato, and Gelateria Ambrosia is my favorite spot for a sweet treat. I recommend the strawberry-lemon combination—it’s refreshing and hits the spot when you have a sweet tooth. Trust me, you’ll want to go back for more!
