Parent Guide

Family Communication

We understand that sending your student abroad is both exciting and filled with questions. At SAI, we prioritize open communication and are here to support you as you help your student navigate this important experience. Our team is always available to answer your questions and provide guidance at every stage of the process.

To stay informed, we encourage you to ask your student to list you as an emergency contact in their SAI program application. Emergency contacts receive key communications leading up to departure, including the student Ready-Set-Go Pack and various newsletters designed to guide you through the preparation process. These updates cover important milestones, deadlines, and what students need to keep in mind as they get ready for their time abroad.

We are committed to making the study abroad experience smooth and rewarding for both students and their families. If you ever need assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to help!

Parent Guide

The SAI Parents Guide provides answers to important questions, offers suggested discussion topics between parents/guardians and students, and outlines the steps that students go through from application to return home. The guide is broken into the four main stages: research, pre-departure, on-site, and returning home.
