A new SAI program
January 12, 2017

SAI students now have the opportunity to study cutting-edge fashion in the Eternal City!

Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (NABA) of Milan has recently opened a new campus in Rome, providing world-class design education in the heart of one of Europe’s great capital cities. NABA was founded in Milan, Italy in 1980 and offers undergraduate and graduate level programs accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education. Over the past 37 years, NABA has built an international reputation for excellence and is now the largest private art academy in Italy.

As a city overflowing with art and design (from the ancient to the modern), Rome is an ideal destination for students pursuing careers in the creative industries. NABA Rome holds true to the school’s core teaching methods, which stress the cultural, theoretical, and practical aspects of design, while giving students access to companies and professionals in the field.

SAI will offer both summer and semester programs at NABA Rome, beginning in Fall 2017.

Semester programs run for 15 weeks. Students enroll in 12 credits from a selection of courses in fashion design, fashion styling & communication, Italian art, and Italian language. Small class sizes provide students with direct access to their professors, while a hands-on approach to learning allows students to build their practical and theoretical skills.

NABA Rome’s four-week summer programs offer students a synthesis of NABA expertise in fashion design, interior design and art history, with courses taught by instructors who are also professionals in their respective fields. Students enroll in two back-to-back 2 week courses, each worth 3 credits. SAI offers two 4-week summer programs at NABA Rome, each with different start dates and course options: Summer I and Summer II.
