Your summer might not be shaping up exactly as expected, but you can still take this time to build your resume and global awareness through a virtual internship! 

This summer, SAI invites students and young professionals to gain pre-professional experience while building cross-cultural competencies in the comfort and safety of their homes with an SAI Virtual Internship. Program participants complete projects with companies based in Florence, Rome, or Barcelona, supported by guided reflections and their SAI Internship Mentor.

Details
Each SAI Virtual Internship program is 6 weeks in length and runs June 22 – July 31, 2020. The total program cost is $1,300. Weekly internship hours can vary and placements are typically project-based. Internships are available in a variety of fields, including online marketing, education, digital communication, and social media management. Upon completion of the internship program, participants receive a Certificate and a letter of recommendation from SAI. All virtual internships are non-credit.

Eligibility & how to apply
SAI Virtual Internship program participants must be at least 18 years old, have a cumulative GPA of 2.75, and have sophomore standing or higher (two semesters completed). Italian/Spanish language is not required, but experience with the host language could expand placement options. Once you have submitted a complete application, your SAI Admissions Counselor will schedule an interview with you to discuss your goals and answer any questions you may have. 

What to expect
Your internship program will begin with an online orientation run by SAI that will help you prepare for your first day “on the job.” Following your orientation, you will meet with your on-site internship supervisor to learn more about your company and the tasks you will be expected to complete. Throughout your internship you will meet virtually with both your supervisor and your SAI Internship Mentor, to help you get the most out of your experience. You will keep a work journal throughout the period of the internship, which will help you reflect on your experiences and produce a final written report.
